And Abu al-Tahir narrated to me, Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, Usamah ibn Zayd al-Laythi informed me, on the authority of Nafi', on the authority of Abdullah ibn Umar, who said: When Khaybar was conquered, the Jews asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to let them remain there on the condition that they would work on half of what it produced of fruit and crops. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "We let you remain there on that condition for as long as we wish." Then he related the hadith similar to the hadith of Ibn Numayr and Ibn Mus-hir, on the authority of Ubaydullah, and added in it: And the fruit was divided according to the shares from half of Khaybar, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would take the fifth.
