And Ibn Numayr narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Ubaydullah narrated to us, Nafi' narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, contracted with the people of Khaybar for half of what came forth from it of crops or fruit. And he related the hadith in a manner similar to the hadith of Ali ibn Mushir, but he did not mention, "So Aisha and Hafsa were among those who chose the land and the water." And he said, "He gave the wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, the choice that he would grant them the land," and he did not mention the water.
