Narrated Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, who said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, saying: Hammam and Aban ibn Yazid informed us, on the authority of Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Abi Qatadah, on the authority of his father, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite in the first two rak'ahs of the noon and afternoon prayers the Opening of the Book and a surah, and he would sometimes make us hear the verse. And he would recite in the last two rak'ahs the Opening of the Book.
