حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، - قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، - حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ الصَّوَّافِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ الطُّفَيْلَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الدَّوْسِيَّ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ لَكَ فِي حِصْنٍ حَصِينٍ وَمَنَعَةٍ - قَالَ حِصْنٌ كَانَ لِدَوْسٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ - فَأَبَى ذَلِكَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِلَّذِي ذَخَرَ اللَّهُ لِلأَنْصَارِ فَلَمَّا هَاجَرَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَهَاجَرَ مَعَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ فَاجْتَوَوُا الْمَدِينَةَ فَمَرِضَ فَجَزِعَ فَأَخَذَ مَشَاقِصَ لَهُ فَقَطَعَ بِهَا بَرَاجِمَهُ فَشَخَبَتْ يَدَاهُ حَتَّى مَاتَ فَرَآهُ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو فِي مَنَامِهِ فَرَآهُ وَهَيْئَتُهُ حَسَنَةٌ وَرَآهُ مُغَطِّيًا يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَا صَنَعَ بِكَ رَبُّكَ فَقَالَ غَفَرَ لِي بِهِجْرَتِي إِلَى نَبِيِّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكَ مُغَطِّيًا يَدَيْكَ قَالَ قِيلَ لِي لَنْ نُصْلِحَ مِنْكَ مَا أَفْسَدْتَ . فَقَصَّهَا الطُّفَيْلُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " اللَّهُمَّ وَلِيَدَيْهِ فَاغْفِرْ "
২১১-(১৮৪/১১৬) আবূ বকর ইবনু আবূ শাইবাহ ও ইসহাক ইবনু ইবরাহীম (রহঃ) ... জাবির (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) বলেন যে, তুফায়ল ইবনু 'আমুর দাওসী (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম এর সামনে উপস্থিত হয়ে প্রশ্ন করলেন, হে আল্লাহর রাসূল! আপনি কি চান যে, আপনার জন্য একটি মাযবুত দুর্গ ও সেনাবাহিনী হোক? রাবী বলেন, দাওস গোত্রে জাহিলী যুগের একটি দুর্গ ছিল (তিনি এদিকে ইঙ্গিত করেন)। নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম তা কবুল করলেন না। কারণ, আল্লাহ তাআলা আনসারদের জন্য এ সৌভাগ্য নির্ধারণ করে রেখেছিলেন। যখন নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম মদীনায় হিজরত করলেন, তখন তুফায়ল ইবনু 'আমর (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) এবং তার গোত্রের একজন লোকও তার সঙ্গে মদীনায় হিজরত করেন। কিন্তু মদীনার আবহাওয়া তাদের অনুকূল হয়নি। তুফায়ল ইবনু আমর (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) এর সাথে আগত লোকটি অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়লো। সে রোগ যন্ত্রণা সহ্য করতে না পেরে তীর নিয়ে তার হাতের আঙ্গুলগুলো কেটে ফেলল। এতে উভয় হাত থেকে রক্ত নির্গত হতে থাকে। অবশেষে সে মারা যায়।
তুফায়ল ইবনু আমর দাওসী (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) স্বপ্নে তাকে ভাল অবস্থায় দেখতে পেলেন, কিন্তু তিনি তার উভয় হাত আবূত দেখে তাকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, তোমার রব তোমার সাথে কিরূপ ব্যবহার করেছে? সে বললো, আল্লাহ তা'আলা তার নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম এর কাছে হিজরত করার কারণে আমাকে ক্ষমা করে দিয়েছেন। তুফায়ল (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) তাকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, তোমার কি হয়েছে যে, আমি তোমার হাত দু'টো আবৃত দেখছি? সে বলল, আমাকে বলা হয়েছে যে, তুমি স্বেচ্ছায় যে অংশ নষ্ট করেছে তা আমরা কখনো ঠিক করব না। তুফায়ল (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম এর নিকট ঘটনাটি বর্ণনা করলেন। তখন রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম দু'আ করলেনঃ ইয়া আল্লাহ! আপনি তার হাত দু'টোকেও ক্ষমা করে দিন। (ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ ২১২, ইসলামিক সেন্টারঃ ২১৯)

Narrated Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Ishaq ibn Ibrahim, both from Sulayman — Abu Bakr said: Sulayman ibn Harb narrated to us — Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Hajjaj al-Sawwaf, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir:
That al-Tufayl ibn Amr al-Dawsi came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, would you like [to take refuge in] a fortified stronghold and protection?" — referring to a fortress that belonged to Daws in the pre-Islamic period. But the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, declined that, because of what Allah had reserved for the Ansar. When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, migrated to Medina, al-Tufayl ibn Amr migrated to him, and a man from his people migrated with him. They found the climate of Medina disagreeable, and the man fell ill. Distressed, he took some arrowheads of his and cut his knuckles with them, and his hands gushed with blood until he died. Al-Tufayl ibn Amr saw him in a dream — he saw him in a good state, and saw him with his hands covered. He said to him, "What did your Lord do with you?" He replied, "He forgave me for my migration to His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him." He said, "Why do I see you covering your hands?" He replied, "It was said to me: 'We will not repair what you have corrupted.'" Al-Tufayl then related this to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Allah, forgive even his hands."
