3 - قمنا بدراسة الإسناد دراسة دقيقة، والإبانة عن درجة كل حديث، كما هو دَأْبنا في كل ما يصدر عنّا، كما قمنا بتمييز الرواة المُهمَلين وبيان أسماء مَن ذُكروا بكناهم أو ألقابهم.
4 - تخريجُ الحديث من الكتب الخمسة، والاقتصار عليها إذا كان الحديث فيها، وتطريقُ أسانيدها (1).
5 - الإحالةُ إلى المصادر التي استوفينا فيها تخريجَ الحديث لِيرجع إليها مَنْ يريدُ التوسع.
6 - وما كان من الأحاديث التي لم تُخرَّج عندنا في المصادر التي حققناها، فإننا نتوسعُ في تخريجها ونحكم على كُلِّ حديث منها بما يليق به من صحة أو حسن أو ضعف.
وقد وفقنا الله -وله الحمدُ- في كل ما شرحناه، وحققناه من الأصول، أن نراعيَ هذا الجانب المهمَّ، جانبَ التصحيح والتضعيف، ونُعنَى به أشدَ العناية، ونتوسعَ فيه غايةَ التوسع، لنتحلل مِن تَبَعةِ التقصير فيما أوجبه الله علينا من هذا العلم الذي أكرمنا به.
7 - وقد ضمَّنَّا الكتابَ تعليقاتٍ حافلةً تشتمِلُ على شرح غريب الحديث، وما يستفاد منه، ومِن توضيح لِبعض الأحكام المستنبَطة من الأحاديث التي تَرِدُ عندَ ابن ماجه.--------------------------------------------

৩ - আমরা সনদের সূক্ষ্ম পর্যালোচনা করেছি এবং প্রতিটি হাদিসের মান স্পষ্ট করেছি, যেমনটা আমাদের প্রতিটি প্রকাশনার ক্ষেত্রে আমাদের রীতি। একইভাবে আমরা অস্পষ্ট বর্ণনাকারীদের শনাক্ত করেছি এবং যাদের নাম তাদের উপনাম বা উপাধি দিয়ে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে, তাদের প্রকৃত নাম স্পষ্ট করেছি।
৪ - পাঁচটি কিতাব থেকে হাদিসের তাখরিজ করা হয়েছে এবং হাদিসটি যদি তাতে থাকে তবে কেবল তাতেই সীমাবদ্ধ রাখা হয়েছে, আর সেগুলোর সনদের বিভিন্ন সূত্র উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে (১)।
৫ - সেই সমস্ত উৎসের উদ্ধৃতি দেওয়া হয়েছে যেখানে আমরা বিস্তারিতভাবে হাদিসের তাখরিজ সম্পন্ন করেছি, যাতে যারা আরও বিস্তারিত জানতে চান তারা সেগুলোর দিকে ফিরে যেতে পারেন।
৬ - আর যে সকল হাদিস আমাদের সম্পাদিত অন্য কোনো উৎসে ইতিপূর্বে তাখরিজ করা হয়নি, সেগুলোর ক্ষেত্রে আমরা বিস্তারিত তাখরিজ করেছি এবং প্রতিটি হাদিসের ওপর তার যোগ্যতা অনুযায়ী সহিহ, হাসান বা যয়িফ হওয়ার হুকুম প্রদান করেছি।
আল্লাহ আমাদের তাওফিক দিয়েছেন—সকল প্রশংসা তাঁরই—যাতে আমরা যা কিছু ব্যাখ্যা ও সম্পাদনা করেছি তার মূল পাঠে এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিকটি অর্থাৎ সহিহ ও যয়িফ নির্ধারণের বিষয়টি বজায় রাখি। আমরা এ বিষয়ে অত্যন্ত গুরুত্ব দিয়েছি এবং সর্বোচ্চ পর্যায়ের বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করেছি, যাতে এই ইলমের মাধ্যমে আল্লাহ আমাদের যে সম্মান দান করেছেন, তার হক আদায়ে কোনো প্রকার অবহেলার দায় থেকে আমরা দায়মুক্ত হতে পারি।
৭ - আমরা এই বইটিতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ টীকা অন্তর্ভুক্ত করেছি, যার মধ্যে হাদিসের কঠিন শব্দের ব্যাখ্যা, হাদিস থেকে প্রাপ্ত শিক্ষা এবং ইবনে মাজাহ-তে বর্ণিত হাদিসসমূহ থেকে উদ্ভাবিত কিছু বিধানের সুস্পষ্ট ব্যাখ্যা রয়েছে।--------------------------------------------

4 - We traced the ḥadīth to the five canonical books, confining ourselves to them when the ḥadīth is found therein, and we followed the multiple chains of transmission in them.¹
5 - We referred to the sources in which we have fully traced the ḥadīth, so that whoever desires further elaboration may consult them.
6 - As for the ḥadīths that we did not trace in the sources we have edited, we expanded our tracing of them and passed judgment on each one according to what befits it—whether ṣaḥīḥ (sound), ḥasan (good), or ḍaʿīf (weak).
God has granted us success—and to Him be all praise—in everything we have explained and verified from the foundational texts, that we have given due consideration to this important aspect, the aspect of authentication and weakening, devoted the utmost care to it, and expanded upon it to the fullest extent, so that we may be absolved of the burden of negligence regarding what God has made incumbent upon us in this knowledge with which He has honored us.
7 - We have included in the book copious annotations comprising the explanation of uncommon terms in the ḥadīth, what benefit is derived from them, and the clarification of some of the legal rulings deduced from the ḥadīths that occur in Ibn Mājah.
