Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us: Abu Khalid—meaning al-Ahmar—narrated to us, from Husayn al-Mu'allim. He said: And Ishaq ibn Ibrahim narrated to us—and the wording is his—he said: Isa ibn Yunus informed us: Husayn al-Mu'allim narrated to us, from Budayl ibn Maysarah, from Abu al-Jawza', from A'ishah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to begin the prayer with the takbir and the recitation with "Al-hamdu lillahi rabbi al-'alamin" (Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds). When he bowed, he neither raised his head nor lowered it, but rather [held it] between that. When he raised his head from the bowing, he did not prostrate until he stood straight. When he raised his head from the prostration, he did not prostrate [again] until he sat upright. He would say the tashahhud after every two rak'ahs. He would spread his left foot and sit upright on his right foot. He forbade the "sitting of the devil" and forbade a man from spreading his forearms on the ground like a beast spreads its forelegs. And he would conclude the prayer with the taslim. In the narration of Ibn Numayr, from Abu Khalid: "And he forbade the 'heel of the devil.'"
