Narrated to us 'Amr ibn Sawwad: 'Abdullah ibn Wahb informed us: 'Amr ibn al-Harith and al-Layth ibn Sa'd both informed us, from Ja'far ibn Rabi'ah, with this same chain of transmission. In the narration of 'Amr ibn al-Harith: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prostrated, he would spread his arms wide in his prostration until the whiteness of his armpits could be seen. And in the narration of al-Layth: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prostrated, he would part his hands from his armpits until I could indeed see the whiteness of his armpits.
