And ‘Ubaydullah ibn ‘Umar al-Qawariri narrated to me, saying: ‘Abd al-Warith ibn Sa‘id and ‘Abd al-Wahhab ibn ‘Abd al-Majid narrated to us, both saying: Ayyub narrated to us, from Abu Qilabah, from Anas, who said: Bilal was commanded to make the call to prayer (adhan) in pairs (shaf‘) and the iqamah in odd numbers (witr).
