Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to me, saying: Isma'il ibn 'Ulayyah narrated to us. And Shayban ibn Farrukh narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Warith narrated to us. Both of them narrated from 'Abd al-'Aziz, from Anas, who said: The prayer was commenced while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in private conversation with a man — and in the narration of 'Abd al-Warith: while the Prophet of Allah ﷺ was conversing privately with the man — and he did not come to the prayer until the people had fallen asleep.
