Abu al-Tahir and Ahmad ibn 'Isa narrated to me; they said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us; Yunus ibn Yazid informed me, from Ibn Shihab, that Abu Salama ibn 'Abd al-Rahman informed him that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no newborn except that he is born upon the fitrah." Then he said: "Recite: 'The fitrah of Allah upon which He created mankind — there is no change in the creation of Allah. That is the upright religion.'"
