And Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna al-'Anazi narrated to us, saying: Abu 'Asim narrated to me, from Hanzalah ibn Abi Sufyan, from al-Qasim, from 'A'ishah, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the ritual bath due to major impurity (janabah), he would call for something like a milking vessel, then take it in his hand and begin with the right side of his head, then the left, then take it with both hands and rub them over his head.
