Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq narrated to me, saying: Sa'id ibn 'Ufayr narrated to us, saying: Sulayman ibn Bilal narrated to me, saying: Sharik ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Namir narrated to me, saying: I heard Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab say: Abu Musa al-Ash'ari narrated to me here — and Sulayman pointed for me to the sitting place of Sa'id near the maqsurah — Abu Musa said: I set out seeking the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and I found that he had taken a path through the palm groves, so I followed him. I found that he had entered a garden, sat at the well's edge, uncovered his shins, and let them dangle into the well. And he related the hadith with the same meaning as the hadith of Yahya ibn Hassan, but he did not mention Sa'id's statement: "So I interpreted them as their graves."
