حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ عِتْبَانَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَلَقِيتُ عِتْبَانَ فَقُلْتُ حَدِيثٌ بَلَغَنِي عَنْكَ قَالَ أَصَابَنِي فِي بَصَرِي بَعْضُ الشَّىْءِ فَبَعَثْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنِي فَتُصَلِّيَ فِي مَنْزِلِي فَأَتَّخِذَهُ مُصَلًّى - قَالَ - فَأَتَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَمَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَدَخَلَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فِي مَنْزِلِي وَأَصْحَابُهُ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ أَسْنَدُوا عُظْمَ ذَلِكَ وَكِبْرَهُ إِلَى مَالِكِ بْنِ دُخْشُمٍ قَالُوا وَدُّوا أَنَّهُ دَعَا عَلَيْهِ فَهَلَكَ وَوَدُّوا أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهُ شَرٌّ . فَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الصَّلاَةَ وَقَالَ " أَلَيْسَ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ " . قَالُوا إِنَّهُ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ وَمَا هُوَ فِي قَلْبِهِ . قَالَ " لاَ يَشْهَدُ أَحَدٌ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَيَدْخُلَ النَّارَ أَوْ تَطْعَمَهُ " . قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَأَعْجَبَنِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ فَقُلْتُ لاِبْنِي اكْتُبْهُ فَكَتَبَهُ .
৫৫-(৫৪/৩৩) শাইবান ইবনু ফাররূখ (রহঃ) ..... আনাস ইবনু মালিক (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) হতে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন আমাকে মাহমুদ ইবনু রাবী' ইতবান ইবনু মালিক (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) হতে বর্ণনা করেছেন, মাহমূদ বলেন, আমি মদীনায় আসলাম এবং ইতবানের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করে বললাম, আপনার সূত্রে একটি হাদীস আমার কাছে পৌছেছে (সুতরাং ঘটনাটি আমাকে সবিস্তারে বলুন)। তিনি (ইতবান) বললেন, আমার দৃষ্টিশক্তি কিছুটা কমে যাওয়ায় আমি রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম এর নিকট এ মর্মে সংবাদ পাঠালাম যে, আমার ইচ্ছা আপনি আমার বাড়িতে এসে এক জায়গায় সালাত আদায় করবেন এবং আমি সে জায়গাটি সালাতের জন্য নির্দিষ্ট করে নিবো।
তিনি (ইতবান) বলেন, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম আসলেন এবং আল্লাহর ইচ্ছায় তার সাথে তার কতিপয় সাহাবাও আসলেন। তিনি ঘরে প্রবেশ করেই সালাত আদায় করতে লাগলেন। আর তার সাহাবাগণ আপোষে কথাবার্তা বলতে থাকলেন। তাদের আলোচনার এক পর্যায়ে এসে তারা মালিক ইবনু দুখশুম* সম্পর্কে মস্ত বড় আপত্তিকর বদদু'আ করুন এবং সে ধ্বংস হয়ে যাক। আবার কেউ এ ইচ্ছাও প্রকাশ করলেন যে, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম তাকে বদদু'আ করুন এবং সে ধ্বংস হয়ে যাক। আবার কেউ এ বাসনাও প্রকাশ করলেন যে, যদি তার উপর আকস্মিক কোন দুর্ঘটনা নেমে আসতো তাহলে খুবই উত্তম হতো।
ইত্যবসরে রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম সালাত সমাপ্ত করলেন এবং জিজ্ঞেস করলে, সে (মালিক) কি এ কথার সাক্ষ্য দেয় না যে, আল্লাহ ব্যতীত প্রকৃত কোন উপাস্য নেই এবং আমি আল্লাহর রাসূল"? লোকেরা বলল, সে মুখে বলে ঠিকই কিন্তু তার অন্তরে এর প্রতি কোন উপাস্য নেই। তিনি বললেন, "যে কেউ এ সাক্ষ্য দিবে যে, "আল্লাহ ব্যতীত প্রকৃত কোন উপাস্য নেই এবং আমি আল্লাহর রাসূল" সে জাহান্নামে প্রবেশ করবে না। অথবা তিনি বলেছেন, আগুন তাকে গ্রাস করবে না। আনাস (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) বলেন, এ হাদীসটি আমার নিকট খুবই চমৎকার মনে হয়েছে। তাই আমি আমার পুত্রকে বললাম, এটা লিখে নাও। সুতরাং সে তা লিখে নিলো। (ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ ৫৬, ইসলামিক সেন্টারঃ ৫৭)

Shayban ibn Farrukh narrated to us: Sulayman—meaning Ibn al-Mughirah—narrated to us, saying: Thabit narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: Mahmud ibn al-Rabi' narrated to me, from 'Itban ibn Malik, who said:
I came to Medina and met 'Itban, and I said: "A hadith has reached me about you." He said: "Some impairment affected my eyesight, so I sent word to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: 'I would love for you to come to me and pray in my house, so that I may take it as a place of prayer.'" He said: "So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came, along with whomever Allah willed of his companions. He entered and prayed in my house, while his companions were conversing among themselves. Then they attributed the greater and weightier part of that matter to Malik ibn Dukhshum. They said: 'They wished that he (the Prophet) had supplicated against him so that he would perish, and they wished that some harm had befallen him.' Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, finished the prayer and said: 'Does he not bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah?' They said: 'He says that, but it is not in his heart.' He said: 'No one bears witness that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah, and then enters the Fire—or that it consumes him.'"
Anas said: "This hadith pleased me, so I said to my son: 'Write it down,' and he wrote it."
