Ibrahim ibn Ziyad—who was nicknamed Sabalan—narrated to me: ‘Abbad ibn ‘Abbad informed us, from ‘Ubayd Allah ibn ‘Umar and his brother ‘Abd Allah, and he heard it from both of them in the year one hundred and forty-four, as they narrated from Nafi‘, from Ibn ‘Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Indeed, the most beloved of your names to Allah are ‘Abd Allah and ‘Abd al-Rahman.”
