It was narrated to us by Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, who said: narrated to us ‘Ali ibn Mushir. And it was narrated to us by Ibn al-Muthanna, who said: narrated to us Yahya — and he is al-Qattan — both from ‘Ubaydullah. And it was narrated to us by Ibn Numayr — and the wording is his — who said: narrated to us my father, who said: narrated to us ‘Ubaydullah, from Nafi‘, that Ibn ‘Umar informed him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Those who make images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Give life to what you have created.'"
