And Hajjaj ibn al-Sha'ir narrated to me, 'Abd al-Samad ibn 'Abd al-Warith narrated to me, Shu'bah narrated to us, 'Alqamah ibn Marthad narrated to me that Sulayman ibn Buraydah narrated to him from his father, who said: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, dispatched a commander or a raiding party, he would call him and give him his instructions. And he related the hadith with the same meaning as the hadith of Sufyan.
