Ahmad ibn Isa narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Amr informed me, from Bukayr ibn al-Ashajj, who said: While we were with Sulayman ibn Yasar, Abd al-Rahman ibn Jabir came to him and spoke with him. Then Sulayman turned to us and said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Jabir narrated to me, from his father, from Abu Burda al-Ansari, that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "No one is to be flogged more than ten lashes except in a prescribed punishment among the punishments of Allah."
