And Muhammad ibn Rafi' narrated to me, saying: Hujayn ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Layth narrated to us, from 'Uqayl, from Ibn Shihab, that he said: 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr informed me, saying: I asked 'A'ishah. And he related the hadith with similar wording, and he said in the hadith: When they asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about that, they said: "O Messenger of Allah, we used to consider it a sin to circumambulate between al-Safa and al-Marwah." Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: "Indeed, al-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever performs the Hajj to the House or performs the 'Umrah, there is no blame upon him to circumambulate between them." 'A'ishah said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, established the circumambulation between them as a practice, so it is not for anyone to abandon the circumambulation between them.
