And Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to me, Jarir narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from Muhammad ibn al-Muntashir, from Humayd ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Abu Hurayrah — may Allah be pleased with him — raising it (to the Prophet). He said: He was asked, "Which prayer is most virtuous after the obligatory prayer, and which fasting is most virtuous after the month of Ramadan?" He said: "The most virtuous prayer after the obligatory prayer is the prayer in the middle of the night, and the most virtuous fasting after the month of Ramadan is fasting the sacred month of Allah, al-Muharram."
