Narrated to us Abdullah ibn Maslamah ibn Qa'nab and Qutaybah ibn Sa'id, they said: narrated to us al-Mughirah—and he is al-Hizami—from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Fasting is a shield."
