'Amr al-Naqid narrated to me: Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from al-Jurayri, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri — may Allah be pleased with him — who said: We used to go on military expeditions with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, during Ramadan. Among us were those who fasted and among us were those who did not fast. The one who fasted did not find fault with the one who did not fast, nor did the one who did not fast find fault with the one who fasted. They held that whoever found strength and fasted, that was good, and they held that whoever found weakness and broke his fast, that was good.
