حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ ( حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ ) قَالَ لَهُ عَدِيُّ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَجْعَلُ تَحْتَ وِسَادَتِي عِقَالَيْنِ عِقَالاً أَبْيَضَ وَعِقَالاً أَسْوَدَ أَعْرِفُ اللَّيْلَ مِنَ النَّهَارِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّ وِسَادَتَكَ لَعَرِيضٌ إِنَّمَا هُوَ سَوَادُ اللَّيْلِ وَبَيَاضُ النَّهَارِ " .
২৪২৩-(৩৩/১০৯০) আবূ বকর ইবনু আবূ শয়বাহ (রহঃ) ... আদী ইবনু হাতিম (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) থেকে বর্ণিত। যখন এ আয়াতحَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ পানাহার কর যতক্ষণ তোমাদের সামনে কালো রেখা থেকে সাদা রেখা সুস্পষ্ট হয়ে না উঠে"- (সূরা আল বাকারাহ ২ঃ ১৮৭) নাযিল হলো, তখন আদী (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) বললেন, হে আল্লাহর রসূল! আমি আমার বালিশের নীচে একটি কালো ও একটি সাদা রংয়ের রশি রেখে দিয়েছি। এগুলোর দ্বারা আমি রাত ও দিনের মধ্যে পার্থক্য নির্ণয় করে থাকি। অতঃপর রসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম (হাসি-ঠাট্টাচ্ছলে) বললেন, তোমার বালিশ তো খুবই চওড়া। জেনে রাখো, এ-তো রাতের অন্ধকার ও দিনের শুভ্রতা। (ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন ২৪০০, ইসলামীক সেন্টার ২৪০০)
Narrated by Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, from Abdullah ibn Idris, from Husayn, from al-Sha'bi, from Adi ibn Hatim, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: When the verse was revealed, "Until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread" (Qur'an 2:187), Adi ibn Hatim said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, I place beneath my pillow two cords—a white cord and a black cord—by which I distinguish the night from the day." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, your pillow is quite wide! Rather, it is the blackness of the night and the whiteness of the day."
