حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ الضَّرِيرُ، وَأُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامَ الْعَيْشِيُّ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لأُمَيَّةَ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ - عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ( لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ وَإِنْ تُبْدُوا مَا فِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ يُحَاسِبْكُمْ بِهِ اللَّهُ فَيَغْفِرُ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ) قَالَ فَاشْتَدَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ بَرَكُوا عَلَى الرُّكَبِ فَقَالُوا أَىْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كُلِّفْنَا مِنَ الأَعْمَالِ مَا نُطِيقُ الصَّلاَةُ وَالصِّيَامُ وَالْجِهَادُ وَالصَّدَقَةُ وَقَدْ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْكَ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ وَلاَ نُطِيقُهَا . قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَتُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَقُولُوا كَمَا قَالَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابَيْنِ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا بَلْ قُولُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ " . قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ . فَلَمَّا اقْتَرَأَهَا الْقَوْمُ ذَلَّتْ بِهَا أَلْسِنَتُهُمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فِي إِثْرِهَا ( آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ كُلٌّ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَمَلاَئِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ لاَ نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِنْ رُسُلِهِ وَقَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ ) فَلَمَّا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ نَسَخَهَا اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ( لاَ يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلاَّ وُسْعَهَا لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا اكْتَسَبَتْ رَبَّنَا لاَ تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ) قَالَ نَعَمْ ( رَبَّنَا وَلاَ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا ) قَالَ نَعَمْ ( رَبَّنَا وَلاَ تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لاَ طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ ) قَالَ نَعَمْ ( وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا أَنْتَ مَوْلاَنَا فَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ ) قَالَ نَعَمْ .
২২৮-(১৯৯/১২৫) মুহাম্মাদ ইবনু মিনহাল আয যারীর ও উমাইয়্যাহ ইবনু বিসতাম আল 'আইশী (রহঃ) ... আবূ হুরাইরাহ (রাদ্বিয়াল্লাহু আনহুমা) বলেন, যখন এ আয়াত নাযিল হলোঃ "আসমান ও জমিনে যত কিছু আছে সমস্ত আল্লাহরই। তোমাদের মনের অভ্যন্তরে যা আছে তা প্রকাশ কর কিংবা গোপন রাখ, আল্লাহ তোমাদের নিকট থেকে তার হিসাব গ্রহণ করবেন এবং যাকে ইচ্ছা তিনি ক্ষমা করবেন, যাকে ইচ্ছা শাস্তি দিবেন। আল্লাহ সবকিছুর উপর সর্বশক্তিমান"- (সূরাহ আল বাকারাহ ২ঃ ২৮৪)। রাবী বলেন, তখন বিষয়টি সাহাবাদের কাছে খুবই কঠিন মনে হল। তাই সবাই রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর কাছে আসলেন এবং হাঁটু গেড়ে বসে বললেন, হে আল্লাহর রাসূল! সালাত, সিয়াম, জিহাদ, সদাকাহ প্রভৃতি যে সমস্ত আমল আমাদের সামর্থ্যানুযায়ী ছিল এ যাবৎ আমাদেরকে সেগুলোর নির্দেশ দেয়া হয়েছে। বর্তমানে এ আয়াত নাযিল হয়েছে। এ বিষয়টি তো আমাদের ক্ষমতার বাইরে।
রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম বললেন, আহলে কিতাব-ইয়াহুদী ও খৃষ্টানের ন্যায় তোমরাও কি এমন কথা বলবে যে, শুনলাম কিন্তু মানলাম না। বরং তোমরা বল; শুনলাম ও মানলাম। হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমরা তোমার নিকট ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করি, আর তোমার কাছেই আমরা ফিরে যাব। রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম এর এ নির্দেশ শুনে সাহাবায়ে কিরাম বললেন, আমরা শুনেছি ও মেনেছি, হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমরা তোমার নিকট ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করছি, তুমিই আমাদের শেষ প্রত্যাবর্তনস্থল। রাবী বলেন, সাহাবাদের সকলে এ আয়াত পাঠ করলেন এবং মনেপ্রাণে তা গ্রহণ করে নিলেন।
অতঃপর আল্লাহ তা'আলা এ আয়াত নাযিল করেন : "রাসূল ঈমান এনেছেন তার প্রতি তার প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ হতে যা অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে এবং মুমিনগণও তাদের সকলেই আল্লাহর, তার ফেরেশতাগণের, তার কিতাবসমূহের এবং তার রাসূলগণের ঈমান এনেছে। (তারা বলে) আমরা তার রাসূলগণের মধ্যে কোন তারতম্য করি না। আর তারা বলে, আমরা শুনলাম এবং মানলাম! হে আমাদের রব! আমরা তোমার নিকট ক্ষমা চাই আর তোমারই নিকট আমাদের প্রত্যাবর্তনস্থল- (সূরাহ আল বাকারাহ ২ঃ ২৮৫)।
যখন তারা সর্বোতভাবে আনুগত্য প্রকাশ করলেন, তখন আল্লাহ তা'আলা উক্ত আয়াতের হুকুম রহিত করে নাযিল করলেনঃ "আল্লাহ কারো উপর এমন কোন কষ্টদায়ক দায়-দায়িত্ব অর্পণ করেন না যা তার পক্ষে করা অসম্ভব। সে ভাল যা উপার্জন করে তা তারই এবং মন্দ যা উপার্জন করে তাও তারই। হে আমাদের রব! যদি আমরা ভুলে যাই কিংবা ভুল করে ফেলি তবে তুমি আমাদেরকে পাকড়াও করো না।" আল্লাহ তা'আলা বললেন, হ্যাঁ, মেনে নিলাম। আরো ইরশাদ হলঃ "হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক আমাদের পূর্ববর্তীগণের উপর যেমন গুরু দায়িত্ব অর্পণ করেছিলেন, আমাদের উপর তেমন দায়িত্ব অর্পণ করো না। আল্লাহ তা'আলা বললেনঃ হ্যাঁ, মেনে নিলাম। আরো ইরশাদ হলঃ "হে আমাদের রব! এমন ভার আমাদের উপর অর্পণ করো না, যা বহন করার শক্তি আমাদের নেই।" আল্লাহ তা'আলা বলেনঃ হ্যাঁ, মেনে নিলাম। আরো ইরশাদ হল, "আমাদের পাপ মোচন কর, আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা করে দাও, আমাদের উপর দয়া কর, তুমিই আমাদের অভিভাবক। সুতরাং কাফির সম্প্রদায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদেরকে বিজয় দান কর"- (সূরাহ আল বাকারাহ ২ঃ ২৮৬)। আল্লাহ তা'আলা বললেন, হ্যাঁ, মেনে নিলাম। (ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনঃ ২২৯, ইসলামিক সেন্টারঃ ২৩৭)

অতঃপর আল্লাহ তা'আলা এ আয়াত নাযিল করেন : "রাসূল ঈমান এনেছেন তার প্রতি তার প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ হতে যা অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে এবং মুমিনগণও তাদের সকলেই আল্লাহর, তার ফেরেশতাগণের, তার কিতাবসমূহের এবং তার রাসূলগণের ঈমান এনেছে। (তারা বলে) আমরা তার রাসূলগণের মধ্যে কোন তারতম্য করি না। আর তারা বলে, আমরা শুনলাম এবং মানলাম! হে আমাদের রব! আমরা তোমার নিকট ক্ষমা চাই আর তোমারই নিকট আমাদের প্রত্যাবর্তনস্থল- (সূরাহ আল বাকারাহ ২ঃ ২৮৫)।

Narrated to me Muhammad ibn Minhāl al-Ḍarīr and Umayya ibn Bisṭām al-ʿAyshī — and the wording is that of Umayya — both said: narrated to us Yazīd ibn Zurayʿ, narrated to us Rawḥ, that is, Ibn al-Qāsim, from al-ʿAlāʾ, from his father, from Abū Hurayra, who said:
When the verse was revealed to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him — "To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And whether you disclose what is in yourselves or conceal it, Allah will call you to account for it, and He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills, and Allah is over all things competent" — he said: This was hard upon the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. So they came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, then knelt upon their knees and said: O Messenger of Allah, we have been charged with deeds we are able to do — prayer, fasting, jihad, and charity — but this verse has been revealed to you, and we are not able to bear it.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do you wish to say as the people of the two Books said before you: 'We hear and we disobey'? Rather, say: 'We hear and we obey. Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the destination.'"
They said: We hear and we obey. Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the destination.
When the people recited it, their tongues yielded to it. Then Allah revealed after it: "The Messenger believes in what was sent down to him from his Lord, and the believers — all believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His messengers: 'We make no distinction between any of His messengers.' And they say: 'We hear and we obey. Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the destination.'"
When they did that, Allah the Exalted abrogated it, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: "Allah does not charge a soul except with its capacity. For it is what it has earned, and against it is what it has acquired. Our Lord, do not take us to task if we forget or err." He said: Yes. "Our Lord, and do not lay upon us a burden as You laid it upon those before us." He said: Yes. "Our Lord, and do not load us with what we have no strength to bear." He said: Yes. "And pardon us, and forgive us, and have mercy upon us. You are our Protector, so grant us victory over the disbelieving people." He said: Yes.
