And Ishaq ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Bakr informed us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said: I heard 'Ata' say: I heard 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr say: The one whom I trust narrated to me — I think he meant 'A'ishah — that the sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He stood for a very long standing, standing upright, then bowing, then standing, then bowing, then standing, then bowing — two rak'ahs in three bowings and four prostrations. Then he departed, and the sun had already cleared. When he bowed, he said, "Allah is the Greatest," then he bowed, and when he raised his head he said, "Allah hears the one who praises Him." Then he stood, praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: "Indeed, the sun and the moon are not eclipsed for the death of anyone, nor for the life of anyone, but they are among the signs of Allah; Allah frightens His servants by them. So when you see an eclipse, remember Allah until they clear."
