Yahya ibn Yahya, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, and Ishaq narrated to us, all from Jarir — Yahya said: Jarir informed us — from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn al-Muntashir, from his father, from Habib ibn Salim, the freed slave of al-Nu'man ibn Bashir, from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite in the two Eid prayers and in the Friday prayer: "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" (Surah al-A'la) and "Has there come to you the narration of the Overwhelming" (Surah al-Ghashiyah). He said: And when Eid and Friday coincided on the same day, he would recite with these two surahs in both prayers as well.
