It was narrated to me by Harmalah ibn Yahya, who said: Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, saying: Amr informed me that Ibn Shihab narrated to him that Salim ibn Abdullah ibn Umar and Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf both narrated to him from Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab, who said: A man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, how is the night prayer?" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The night prayer is two by two, and if you fear the dawn, then pray witr with one."
