And Ahmad ibn Yusuf al-Azdi narrated to me, 'Umar ibn 'Abdullah ibn Razin narrated to us, Ibrahim — meaning Ibn Tahman — narrated to us, from al-Hajjaj — and he is Ibn Hajjaj — from Qatadah, from Abu Ayyub, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As, that he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the times of the prayers, and he said: "The time of the dawn prayer is as long as the first horn of the sun has not risen, and the time of the noon prayer is when the sun has declined from the middle of the sky, as long as the afternoon prayer has not arrived, and the time of the afternoon prayer is as long as the sun has not turned yellow and its first horn has not set, and the time of the sunset prayer is when the sun has set, as long as the twilight has not disappeared, and the time of the night prayer is until the middle of the night."
